Udayana University English Debating Championship (UUEDC) is an open debate which is hosted by Universitas Udayana. December 2016 was the first time for Undhira’s debate teams to compete in this competition. This competition became special because for the first time Undhira sent quite many teams; 5 teams; 10 people, more people means more fun and more knowledge to share. We did many times of practices also because the preparation time was almost two months.
Since it was our first time to compete in this competition it also means our first time to compete in an open debate. Open debate is a competition that gives chance for everyone to join, literally, everyone. It was quite surprising and scary because this open debate brought us to compete a debate with the people who usually our mentor, or our judges in National University Debating Championship. It was a really under pressure competition for Undhira’s debate teams but at the end, each of the team gave their best performances with great results.
